Car Dealers Rivalling Mercedes

The production teams at Kia car dealers have developed a number of stunning concepts over the years and they have delivered yet again another concept of a four-door coupé to rival the Mercedes CLS.

It's a sign of just how far Kia car dealers has come that it can be mentioned in the same sentence as Mercedes - let alone one of Mercedes-Benz's flagship cars.

The Kia coupé along with the name of the car will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Kia car dealers is keeping the finer details of production very confidential However, the car's designer is suggesting it could eventually be given the go ahead.

Kia's Peter Shchreyer said: “No matter from which perspective you look at it, this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off. I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter.”

Kia clearly has it’s sights set high, and a four-seat, four-door coupé could be the perfect model to move them towards upmarket status- particularly if it outshines the similar VW Passat CC significantly. If it does make the car dealers showrooms, however, it will do so without the impressive carbon fibre wheels of the show car.

The Kia concept car is rear-wheel drive, which wouldn't be too costly for Kia Car Dealers to put into production because it has access to Hyundai (sister company) and therefore access to Hyundai's Genesis coupé, which is rear-wheel drive car.

The sales of the Hyundai Genesis haven’t been exactly through the roof in the UKL and the model is certainly not a sell out, but its chassis could be easily stretched and measured for an executive four-door like this to rival the Mercedes CLS.

It is not only Kia that are making news ahead of this years Frankfurt Motor Show. Peugeot car dealers has released a few images of its HX1 Concept car and will debut at this years event. The low and streamlined MPV can seat up to six adults while holding a remarkably low drag coefficient of just 0.28.

To reach this low drag coefficient of just 0.28 Peugeots clever car designers developed wheel blades that open up to form a flat surface, as well as some clever side skirt and spoiler design work.

The HX1 has plenty more design features on offer, including five rear-hinged half-scissor doors for passengers to enter and exit. Additionally, a center row of seating can be created by a set of pull-out seats that are integrated into the front seats. Hats off to Peugeot for this little intricate design feature.

Under the hood, the HX1 gets its power from a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. 204-horsepower 2.4-liter turbo-diesel engine provides power to the front wheels while an electric motor takes care of spinning the rear tires. All in all, the vehicle generates a hugh 299 horsepower while returning an unbelievable 88.2 miles per gallon.

The Frankfurt Motor Show is the largest in the world, and is held every two years. Car Manufacturers unveil their new models and concepts amongst a frenzy of press and reporters and opens to the public on the 13th of September.
